WASHINGTON DC HOLIDAY DINING
Washington DC was named the 2016 Restaurant City of the Year by Bon Appétit. While there are hundreds of fantastic dining options in the district, our staff proudly recommends these options in our local area:
French, Fun and Friendly, this thunderously loud French-themed hangout stays open until 1:00am Thursday through Saturday. The word Bistrot is defined in French as a neighborhood restaurant where you can eat good food at a fair price. Open 365 days a year.
Best known among Washingtonians for its escargot hush puppies, Mintwood Place has rapidly become a local favorite for its menu, which adds a French flair to American food. Reservations only on Thanksgiving; Open Christmas Eve, Closed Christmas Day.
Take this sliver of a Japanese spot in Adams Morgan, home to 14 stools and a single focus: the Japanese rice bowls that the chef hands to customers across an L-shaped bar. (Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day)
Experience one of the prettiest indoor/outdoor spaces in DC, with a year-round patio. Enjoy a small plates menu at the bar or a four-to-six course tasting menu in the candlelit dining room. Either way, you'll find lusty takes on Mediterranean ingredients. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
